Mystified by the unexpected arrival of her first period, Ceci (Blanca Ordaz) calmly concludes she's dying. Yet she doesn't want to bother Dad with it, so she prepares a bucket list (including her first real kiss) and her funeral, because death should be an art. Hybrid Compute on Mac lets Perplexity Computer divide one task between cloud models and a local model on your Mac. Sensitive files stay on the device while cloud agents handle frontier reasoning, web research, and planning. In this Short Session, PM Joey Zhong shows how Hybrid Compute, built with Apple, routes each step to the right environment. A local model works with private files without using Computer credits. Before sensitive content can leave the Mac, Computer flags it and asks for permission to send it, mask it, or keep it local. Watch Hybrid Compute prepare a board deck using private Q2 financials and executive notes alongside current competitor research. Computer keeps the financial data and notes on the Mac, identifies budget lines that are more than 10% off, and uses the notes to explain each variance. Only the competitor research goes to the cloud, where Computer reviews recent funding, product launches, and customer wins. The result combines private company context with current market intelligence. You’ll see how Hybrid Compute can: • Work with private files through a local model • Keep sensitive financials and executive notes on the Mac • Flag sensitive content before it reaches the cloud • Let users send, mask, or keep information local • Use local models without consuming Computer credits • Combine on-device analysis with current web research Short Sessions is a Perplexity series featuring product demos, quick takes, and perspectives on the future of AI. How does a brand become a movement? That's the question I kept thinking about after sitting down with Edreece Arghandiwal, Co-Founder and CMO of Oakland Roots Sports Club and The Soul SC. We often talk about branding in terms of logos, campaigns, and content. But the Oakland Roots have built something much deeper: a club that represents a city, gives people a sense of belonging, and stands for something beyond the game. Let’s be honest this work can be a meat grinder and isolating. So we thought we would lean into this whole podcast culture and actually produce something we would listen to. Something that we could learn from and share with our fellow creatives. We decided to turn to the amazing creatives we are surrounded by everyday: these are our friends, our partners and our clients. Hosted by me! Corduroy Media's creative director, I dives in to discover that first spark of inspiration. Listen in as we talk with a diverse group of team leading creatives in one on one conversations about their upbringings, accomplishments, and challenges they’ve faced in their personal careers in the industry. We dive deep into what they’ve learned from leading teams through various creative development stages, and understanding what makes or breaks a creative team. Creative X Direction is produced by Corduroy Media and Carl Dusseau Brown recorded at Mama Dog Studios with the use of The Magic Boz Wall hosted in the space. #CreativeDirection #CreativeLeadership #Storytelling #BrandStrategy #MarketingLeadership #DesignLeadership #CreativeProcess #Branding #B2BMarketing #Filmmaking
